Welcome to Martana Connects. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website located at martanaconnects.com (the “Site”) and the services provided by Martana Connects (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Martana Connects is a community-driven directory initiative powered by Martana Bookkeeping. By accessing or using our Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Martana Connects is a community-driven directory designed to support small businesses in Southeast Minnesota, including Austin, Albert Lea, Blooming Prairie, Brownsdale, Dexter, Rose Creek, Lyle, Elkton, Grand Meadow, Le Roy, Racine, Sargeant, Waltham, Mapleview, and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide equal visibility for small businesses and foster community engagement.

By using this Site, you agree to use the platform solely for its intended purpose: discovering and supporting local small businesses.

Prohibited Content: Martana Connects is a positive, community-focused platform and a politics-free and family-friendly space. To maintain this environment, we strictly prohibit the listing or posting of any content that includes:

Sexual or adult-oriented material or adult services.
Illegal drugs or related paraphernalia.
Violence, threats, harassment, or promotion of harm.
Political campaigning, divisive political content, debates, or endorsements.

We reserve the right to remove any listing or user-generated content that violates these standards at our sole discretion.

Small businesses may list their services on our platform to gain visibility, collect reviews, and participate in community giveaways.

3A. Listing Consent & Opt-In

Martana Connects only lists businesses that have actively signed up for an account and listing, or have otherwise provided explicit consent to be featured on the Site. We do not scrape business information or create listings without permission. This opt-in approach is part of our commitment to community trust and accurate, business-approved information.

Free Trial: New business members receive the first sixty (60) days of their listing for free.
Subscription Fee: Following the trial period, the subscription fee is $19.99 per month.
Billing Date: All recurring billing occurs on the 15th day of each month.
Payment Methods:
Automatic Billing: Members may provide a Credit Card Authorization for automatic monthly payments.
Manual Billing (Pay-as-you-go): Members may choose to pay manually each month via the link provided in their billing statement.
Included Perks: Your subscription may include rotating homepage featured listings (we aim to feature only one business per category at a time in the featured section), inclusion in our weekly community newsletter featuring highlighted businesses, social media shout-outs, and optional promotional opportunities such as donating gift cards, certificates, or discounts for community drawings.

Maintaining an active listing requires timely payment.

Grace Period: Payments are considered late if not received within five (5) days of the billing date (the 20th of the month).
Removal of Listing: If payment is not received within ten (10) days of the billing date (the 25th of the month), the business listing will be automatically deactivated and removed from the directory.
Reactivation: To reactivate a removed listing, the outstanding balance must be paid in full.

Consumers using the site to find local businesses may leave ratings and reviews. You agree that your reviews will be honest, respectful, and based on actual experiences. We do not allow harassment, hate speech, or fake reviews. We do not verify the accuracy of user reviews and are not liable for any content posted by third parties.

We may offer giveaways, drawings, or similar promotions (each, a “Promotion”). Unless otherwise stated in the Promotion details, to enter our monthly drawings for local gift cards/gift certificates/or other promotions:

Leave a Review: Review at least one business on our Site. Each additional review counts as an extra entry.
Follow Us: Follow our Facebook page at https://facebook.com/martanaconnects.
Enter via Site: Click the “Giveaways” button on martanaconnects.com and complete the short survey.

Winners are chosen at random. Must be a local resident to win. Additional eligibility rules, deadlines, prize details, and entry limits may apply and will be provided with the Promotion. Void where prohibited.

Martana Connects provides a platform for visibility and community connection. We do not guarantee an increase in revenue or specific business outcomes. We are not responsible for the quality of services provided by the businesses listed on our Site, nor are we liable for any disputes that arise between businesses and consumers.

The Martana Connects name, logo, and website design are the property of Martana Connects. Business owners retain rights to their own logos and brand materials uploaded to their listings but grant Martana Connects a license to display such materials for promotional purposes.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Business members will be notified of significant changes via the email address provided at registration. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota.
